Day 19: Sleepy and Energized
Week 3 has come to a close, and I am starting to see progress. My weight choices haven’t changed much (that I’ve noticed) since the moves in class vary enough from day to day, but when I feel my quads, wow! My legs are starting to firm up, and that’s encouraging! Even if it’s all in my head, I think my arms are feeling stronger, too.
The greatest change, however, is my energy level during the daytime. Don’t get me wrong, I feel tired, and I start counting the hours until bedtime about the time I finish lunch, but I’m still able to move around through my day and have been feeling very productive. I’m sleeping well, too. I think I understand why, since I was listening to the “This Podcast Will Kill You” episodes on sleep while reorganizing my entire house today, and learned about andosene (the sleep chemical) build-up that is probably building up in higher levels with the increased metabolic and tissue repair pressure of working out more. Truly a marvel.
