Day 9: Work Less

Rest days are tough. I struggled to “rest” today. I’m excited to be working out again; it’s fun and makes me feel good. On my rest days, I’m a little sad I’m not working out. I had to tell myself that days off are just as important as days on. My body needs to repair, rebuild, and refuel. I’m getting ready to work hard.

I started to feel like my 6-year-old at bedtime. He wants to stay up and hang out. He resists going to sleep because there are so many fun things to do, but every night, I have to explain why we have to sleep and why we don’t just stay awake all the time. It might be boring, but it’s important to give our bodies rest.

I need to take days off so that my days on are more productive. I’ll get back to work tomorrow with fresh legs!
